The Arts and Crafts Movement began primarily as a reaction to the Victorian era and as a search for authentic and meaningful styles for architecture and decorative arts. Running from about 1870 to 1920 and characterized by simplicity of design, hand-crafted objects, and local materials. The Arts and Crafts room was designed and furnished with the Craftsman style in mind as the original woodwork in our building was very similar in concept.
